An unemployed Johannesburg woman has won the biggest PowerBall jackpot for the year, at a staggering R75 million. This was from 17 March 2023, on draw number 1389. She bought her ticket at Spar Kingfisher. The winner said that she is an occasional National Lottery player and only plays the National Lottery games when she can. This time around luck was on her side as she and her husband picked the numbers together.
“When I checked the results at home and realised that I had won, I became very excited. I was always hopeful that I would one day win the jackpot,” said the winner.
Leading up to the time that she came to ITHUBA’s office to claim her winnings, the woman had kept her ticket safe in her bag.
“Now that I have won the PowerBall jackpot, I am looking forward to living comfortably. I am going to buy a house and invest in my children’s education,” she added.
