THERE is a staggering R45 million up for grabs in tonight’s (Tuesday, 12 April) PowerBall and PowerBall Plus draws after numerous rollovers.
Both games have big jackpots worth a whopping R45.6 million combined. A lucky player that will match all five numbers and the PowerBall will most likely be South Africa’s newest multi-millionaire.
PowerBall is the most popular lottery game, with a jackpot estimated at R20.6 million while the PowerBall Plus jackpot stands at an estimated R25 million.
The PowerBall game has already had 13 Jackpot winners since Ithuba took over the lottery 10 months ago. The newly-introduced PowerBall Plus has recorded three millionaire jackpot winners.
Meanwhile, Ithuba has already produced a total of 50 millionaire jackpot winners across all lottery games since taking over. Lotto has recorded 30 millionaires, PowerBall 13, Lotto Plus 4 and PowerBall Plus 3.
January 2016 saw three PowerBall Plus jackpots being won in a space of less than 10 days with the biggest one being R23.2 million from KwaZulu-Natal. Another KwaZulu-Natal player walked away with R10.3-million three days earlier, while a Gauteng player received probably the best new year’s present after winning R1.3-million in the first PowerBall draw of the year. The big winner this year was a PowerBall player from Gauteng who walked away with R42 million after winning in the Friday January 22nd draw .
Tonight’s draw will be broadcast live on e.tv at 9pm while tickets must be bought before 8:30pm as sales close 30 minutes before the draw.
