Self-affirming PowerBall PLUS winner finally hit the 38 million jackpot

The recent R38 million PowerBall PLUS jackpot winner played with the intention to win, and on 21 September 2018 – his intentions materialised.
The winner from Cape Town said although he claimed his winnings a few days ago, he still could not believe his luck in hitting the R38 million jackpot.
“I am still in disbelief as I have never won from playing any of the Lottery games, and my first ever win is the highly sought after jackpot,” he said.
The reserved winner said his dad, whom he trusts, is the only person he told about his winnings and he didn’t intend to tell anyone else. The 35-year-old bachelor said although he didn’t have immediate plans for his money, he planned to take care of his retired father and settle his outstanding debt.
Spending an average of R150 a week on LOTTO and recently started playing PowerBall, the winner said he used the affirmation for abundance principle whenever he played, but he never thought it would manifest in him hitting the jackpot.
“I told myself that I was going to win every time I placed a bet, but I never thought about winning the jackpot. I went to the same retailer where I placed my bet two days after the draw to check if my ticket won anything and to my surprise, I was told to go to the Ithuba offices. I knew at that moment that I had won but I wasn’t sure how much it was,” he said.
Excited, the winner said that he was looking forward to travelling with his new money and doing what he loves most – spending time outdoors. Adding that although the money would make a huge difference in his life, he plans to keep his 9 – 5 job, live a simple life and continue playing LOTTO and PowerBall.

A R15 lottery ticket has scooped this year’s second biggest Powerball Jackpot, turning a Gauteng retail store worker into an instant multi-millionaire.
The lucky winner somehow didn’t even watch the live Powerball draw on TV in which her ticket matched all five numbers and the Powerball, instantly changing her life and making her R31.6 million richer.
She woke up the next day, got ready for work as usual, not knowing that she had just entered SA’s millionaires’ club. She only found out while at work that she has won big in the lottery when she visited the same shop where she bought her life-changing R15 lottery ticket.
The pleasant surprise seemed way too big a secret for her to keep; the lucky winner confided in her brother who was the only person she shared the good news with.Anxiety and disbelief however still got the better of her throughout the day as she found herself constantly checking her ticket which she had kept safely in her wallet.
She said she may have at least once in every hour kept double-checking it making sure what she was seeing was real. “I didn’t know whether to cry or scream, I just didn’t believe what I was seeing,” she said.
Although she says she’s never thought she would one day win a lottery jackpot, she always fantasized about driving big cars. “I’ve always seen myself driving a big car like a BMW X6,” she said while adding that she considered herself a careful spender.
She had recently won R4 500 in one of the lottery games; little did she know that barely three months later she was to win a life-changing R30-million plus Powerball Jackpot.
She’s a regular lottery player that spends between R70 and R100 every month using different numbers playing the Lotto, LottoPlus and Powerball games.
The lucky mother of one who is also expecting her second baby soon is planning to acquire a new home and car with some of her winnings. She also plans to travel and use some of the money as start-up capital for her own business.
Now that her life has turned for the better in a big way, she’s now ready to take up a new hobby of going to the gym regularly and get to spend more time with her family.
This year’s biggest Powerball jackpot was R42-million also won by a Gauteng player. Other big Powerball jackpots this year include R23.2 million won by a KwaZulu-Natal player in January while a Pretoria lottery player walked away with R21.4-million last month.

Western Cape man claims the Mega R20-million PowerBall PLUS jackpot

A Grabouw man’s life will never be the same again after winning the long-awaited PowerBall PLUS Guaranteed Jackpot last week Tuesday, 29 November 2016.
Grabouw, situated just over 60km from Cape Town, is known for its rich agricultural areas, producing apples and pears. Now it’s home to one of Ithuba’s biggest jackpot winner who took home R20 000 000.
The lottery player joins 10 other millionaires already created from the province.
The overwhelmed yet humble winner said he found out that he had won while watching the PowerBall Draw show with his family, and cried after realising that he matched all the jackpot winning numbers.
An avid player of both PowerBall and LOTTO games, the winner played his properly thought and planned numbers on the day of the draw and spent only R45 on his winning ticket. The winning ticket was bought at Village Supermarket in Grabouw.
The winner who on average spends about R600 a month on lottery tickets, said he will continue playing his favourite games – PowerBall and LOTTO – and wishes to win big in the Christmas Raffle and the new Pick 3 game.
The winner told Ithuba that he was overwhelmed about the winnings and everything still feels surreal. “The most that I have won with LOTTO was R900 since I started playing when the game was launched”, said the winner.
“After living from hand-to-mouth every single month and some months without money, I will finally be able to buy my dream house and provide for my family. All I have ever wanted to do was to have a house where my family could live comfortably, and be able to provide for them in the best way possible. My family has always wanted to fly in an aeroplane to go on holiday, this dream is finally going to come” concluded the winner..
The winner also plans to donate some money to a charity organization which he has already identified.

The winner bought his Powerball PLUS ticket for R15 at a shop in Umhlanga, KZN. “I have always had faith that one day I would win either the LOTTO or PowerBall jackpot. I have always made sure that I tick the PowerBall or LOTTO PLUS options, because through these options players get a second chance to win. That one tick on the PowerBall PLUS made all the difference for me this time because it’s through this option that I won”, said the jackpot winner.
While there is no claim that this jackpot prize, or others like it, completely eliminate unemployment and poverty in South Africa, it is notable that an entire family has received financial relief in a big way. The South African National Lottery has announced that there is over R25 million worth of two PowerBall Plus jackpots that have not yet been claimed.
The first ticket, worth over R21,7 million was bought on Friday 30 June 2017 for R45 at 19:33 pm. The ticket will expire on 30 June 2018.
The second ticket, worth over R3,4 million was bought on 21 July 2017 for R22. 50 at 16:47pm. The ticket will expire on 21 July 2018.
Both tickets were bought at Ifalethu Trading Store in Moshoeshoe Road, Sebokeng.
All players are urged to check their tickets and winners must come forward to claim their prizes. If they don’t the ticket claim period will expire and the winning amount will be transferred to the National Lotteries Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF) for the benefit of good causes.
